Norwich would take the opening event of the meet as Kaitlyn Blaisure, Maya Blaisure, Margie Winter and Lauren Llewellyn swam to a time 2:06.52 in the 200-yard Medley Relay.
Winter hopped back in the pool immediately after her first race to take first place in the 200-yard Freestyle. Winter grabbed her third event at the top of the podium in the 100-yard Freestyle and teammate Lauren Llewellyn would take second as she finished a few seconds behind.
The relay team of the Blaisure sisters, Winter and Llewellyn would take the top honors again in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay, all recording splits under 32 seconds.
To end the event, Norwich would take first in the 400-yard Freestyle Relay with the team of Blenis, Emerson Burton, Haley Shattuck and Ashton Wenzel as they finished one minute ahead of the visiting Black Knights Freestyle team.
“The meet was predictable and it was nice to get one under our belts before going against Chenango Valley this next weekend,” said Norwich head coach Saundra Gantt. “The girls looked strong, although tired at times, which was expected. The times are right where we anticipated and we look forward to getting the competition season underway.”
Norwich will be in the pool again on Friday, September 15 as they will be on the road to Chenango Valley. Meet is slated for 5:30 p.m.
