Black Knights survive a trip to Norwich with a 3-0 win

NORWICH – The Norwich Purple Tornado couldn’t uproot the Windsor Black Knights volleyball team – as Windsor left Norwich with a 3-0 win.
"We need to regroup and get ready for the next match," said Norwich head coach Shelly Alger.
Windsor sliced up the Norwich volleyball squad in what will truly be used as a learning moment for the lady Tornado.
The lady Black Knights took the first set at 25-12. Norwich responded with some bite, fighting to a 25-18 loss in set two. Set three was a dud, as Windsor raced to the win at 25-8.
Alexis Taylor helped pave the way for Norwich with four digs, four kills, one block and one assist. Following Taylor was Layla Burton with four digs, Ripley Strong with two digs and two aces, Riley Strong with two digs and one assist, LeahAnne Humphrey with seven assists, Jazmin Rodriguez with seven digs, Gabby Eddy with three kills, and Virginia Maiurano with one digs. Kalie Binelli added a solid game with five digs, one kill and one ace.
Standing out for Windsor was McKenna Corbin, who managed 18 assists.
Next up for Norwich’s volleyball squad (1-1 overall), they will get a week off from live action before they travel to Chenango Valley on Thursday, September 21, at 6:15 p.m.
