Clinton boys soccer drill home seven goals in win over S-E

CLINTON- On the night of Clinton’s homecoming soccer game, the Sherburne-Earlville Marauders sought to spoil the fun evening under the lights in Clinton. Unfortunately, S-E fell short falling by a score of 7-1, as the hometown Indians dominated the game from start to finish. S-E fell behind early at the Indians pelleted the goal with an incoming bombardment of shots with precise marksmanship.
The Indians took a commanding 3-0 lead, led by their offensive ace in Garret Frank. Frank later ended the game with a pair of goals himself to pace the Indians offense. S-E was able to rally with a Noah Posson goal late in the first half, cutting the Indians lead to 3-1 by the halftime break.
Unfortunately for S-E, the game only got harder from here. In the second half, the host Indians went on a four unanswered goal streak, with the fourth and final goal getting counted as an owned goal on S-E. The Marauder’s goalkeeper Thad Karaman amassed an impressive 10 saves on the game as his team took one on the chin, falling to a record of (0-4-1). Clinton finished with a total of 16 shots on goal, and nine corner kicks. S-E, finished with six shots on goal and one corner kick.
The Marauder’s remain optimistic in their quest to find their first win of the season, and they hope to do so in their next outing on September 20 as they travel to Adirondack with a game time scheduled for 4:30.
