Bobcats Golf top Blackhawks in nine holes
BAINBRIDGE – Bainbridge-Guilford claimed the win over the visiting Blackhawks by five strokes, grabbing their second of the season 268-273.
Caleb Presley golfed his way to top honors for the Bobcats shooting a 49 on the par 36 course. Teammate Jared Proskowski placed a 51 on the scorecard while Triston Wilson came in with a 55. Amaya Carlin and Alexis Nichols rounded out the top-five for B-G recorded a 56 and 57.
“Dan Girigliano [Bobcats head coach] has done a great job with his kids,” said Blackhawks Head Coach Lance Thorne. “They have improved quite a bit from the last time we played them.”
Oxford (2-7) was without a usual top-three medalist, which ultimately caused a difference in the match.
Jason Davis finished the round as the night's overall leader, shooting a 45. Garrett Depew followed close behind as his effort was two strokes off Davis' final tally. Zach Ford, Liam O'Brien and Christian Paden would snag the final three spots of Oxford's top-five, etching a 58, 60 and 63 on the final scorecard.
Oxford will head to French Woods Golf Course next to face Deposit-Hancock on Monday, September 18. The Bobcats wait until Tuesday, September 19 as they travel to square off against Afton-Harpursville at Belden Hill. Both matches are slated with start times of 4:30 p.m.
