Marauders bounce back for first win of season; Blanks Adirondack 51-0
ADIRONDACK – Sherburne-Earlville regrouped throughout the week like head coach Ed Holmquist hoped, taking down the Wildcats of Adirondack 51-0 Saturday afternoon.

The first of many came from S-E's Lincoln Owen, rushing from 39 yards out to find the end zone – tacking on six points. The extra point kick went through the uprights to make it 7-0 early.
Marauders' quarterback Gabe Irwin connected with Dawson Lagoe for 54 yards, jumping out to a 13-0 lead. The conversion would fail, keeping the score at 13.
Owen punched his second touchdown of the day, running in from five yards. Irwin tacked on two more points running in the the two-point conversion.
Sherburne-Earlville's Jessy Lynch found the end zone for the first time this season with a four yard run and the Marauders' fourth touchdown of the afternoon. Teammate Vinny Albertina converted the two-point attempt this time, ending the first half score 29-0.
The Marauders didn't let up after the intermission. Owen scored again, only this time receiving a pass from Irwin. Irwin ended the day with two touchdown passes, totaling 66 yards on scoring plays. Tanner Manwarren tacked on the conversion for S-E, leading the score to be 37-0 in the third.

S-E's last touchdown came from an Albertina two yard run creating the final score 51-0.
“We responded nicely from last week,” said Sherburne-Earlville head coach Ed Holmquist. “We kept the pressure on defense and really clicked on offense.”
The Marauders will look to keep their progress going Friday, September 22, as they stay home to face Clinton Central with a 7 p.m. kick-off scheduled.
