Lady Spartans crush the ranks of Greene volleyball

UNATEGO – The ladies of the Unatego volleyball team – hosted and promptly leveled the likes of the Greene Trojans at 3-0.

Greene saw their most competitive set come in the third go-aroudn – however, at that time they already trailed Unatego at 2-0 – losing the first set at 25-12 and second set at 25-19.

In that final set, Greene's coach, Mary McBride, coached her squad to a solid showing at 26-24 – as Unatego needed extra points to secure the final set win.

No stats were reported for Greene. For the host, Unatego Spartans, it was Alyssa Blanco and Megan short who both had seven ace's, followed by Carly Hill at six kills, Kaitlyn Rivera and Megan Short each at one block, and Alexa Hurlburt at one dig.

Next up for Unatego (4-0), they will host Unadilla Valley next Tuesday, on September 19, at 6:30 p.m. Greene will have their hands full on Monday, September 18, when they host Bainbridge-Guilford at 4:30 p.m.
