Streak ends at six for Unadilla Valley golf

SIDNEY — The Storms’s rolling total of six ended on Friday, September 15, as the undefeated Sidney Warriors bested Unadilla Valley golf at 252-267.
The Storm’s Andrew Jackson played his usual round, finishing at the top of the scorecard with a 45, shooting just nine strokes over the par 36. Teammate Brandon Kneale recited a 49 on the front nine holes.
Sidney’s top five was led by Steven Smith, who’s round total was a 47 on the warm Friday evening. He was followed by fellow Warriors MacKenzie and Corbin Constable as they each grabbed top-five honors, each shooting a 50. Ryan Cole and Dominic Hartwell earned the last two spots in the scorecard as Cole finished with a round of 52 and Hartwell grabbed a 53 for the day.
UV’s Sam Loeffler snagged the third spot in the top-five with a 55 while Gavin Church and Jacob Figger capped the final five, each recording 59’s on the scorecard.
The Storm is back on the fairways as they face the Greene Trojans on Thursday, September 21. Both teams will tee-off at Red Pines at 4:30 p.m.
