Lady Storm dominate Walton with four first half goals
WALTON — Unadilla Valley’s girls soccer team came out firing on all cylinders as they recorded four first half goals to take down the host Walton Warriors 6-2 as a final.
Stephanie Montgomery kicked off the scoring for UV from an assist by Cearah DaCostafaro.
Later, Kyleigh George finished a header into the goal, making the second goal appear on the scoreboard for the Storm.
Not shy on scoring this season, Julia Oglesby found the back of the net, adding on more to her season tally.
Montgomery ended the scoring run of the first half for UV as she recorded her second of the evening.
Oglesby kicked off the scoring for UV in the second half, giving her a total of two goals and matching her teammate Montgomery.
Jessica Smith wanted in on the scoring action as well for UV and with another assist by DaCostafaro, she sent the final goal into the net past Walton’s goalie.
The Lady Warriors avoided the shut-out as they received two goals from Olivia Haven.
UV heads to Otselic Valley Wednesday, September 20, for the opening game of the nights double header for Vikings’ annual Tournament. The Storm will take on Cato-Meridian at 5 p.m. Otselic Valley will follow as they face local rival DeRuyter at 7 p.m.
