Norwich’s strong show was not enough to hold off Warriors of Chenango Valley

CHENANGO VALLEY — Four of Norwich’s top five golfers shot scores in the 40’s but it was still not enough to take down Chenango Valley as the Warriors went on to win 218-243.
A.J. Little started his round off with two birdies as he shot his way to a team-low 44. Teammate Alex Gage also finished with 44 as the two tackled Chenango Valley State Park’s front nine holes.
Warriors’ Dom Francavilla brought home the match-low score of 39 and teammate Justin Wardell’s scorecard showed a 43.
Griffin Clipston and Connor Nial each shot a 48 on the evening for Norwich. Kai Scheer took home the final spot of the Tornado’s top-five with a score of 59.
“The course we played on tonight is the hardest course the kids will play on all year,” said Norwich head coach David Branham.
Norwich competes on the road again as they face Susquehanna Valley on Wednesday, September 20. The match is slated for a 4:30 p.m. tee time.
