Hat-trick from Arnold helps lift Sidney to 6-0 win over Warhawks

AFTON – Taking yet another loss, Afton’s combined soccer team falls to Sidney on Wednesday by a score of 6-0.
A 3-0 score at the halftime break quickly turned into a 6-0 loss for the Afton Warhawks – who managed just two shots on goal and one corner kick.
6-0 isn’t too bad for a rebuilding team like Afton – considering four different Sidney athletes scored. However, what does make matters worse is that Christian Noyes, Afton’s keeper was taxed with making 20 saves – 20 saves of the 30 shots on goal from Sidney. Sidney also had five penalty corners.
Scoring for Sidney was Ryan Arnold with three goals and one assist, Andy Gray with one goal and one assist, Nathan Gorshack and Jon Palmiter each with a goal and Michael Gravlin with an assist.
Next up for Afton soccer, they will be home this coming Friday, September 22, when they host Delhi at 4:30 p.m.
