Overtime goal from Boeltz lifts the Trojans past M-E field hockey

ENDWELL – On Tuesday, the Greene Trojans field hockey team faced off against the lady Spartans of Maine-Endwell, resulting in 2-1 Trojan win.

Greene shot 16 times, two landed. Emily Miller executed her play to near perfection, securing 12 saves for Maine-Endwell. A 0-0 first half quickly turned into a 1-1 final – with Chloe Parks of Greene scoring and Anna Castaldo snagging a goal for the home Spartans.

With 5:53 left in overtime, the Trojans looked to Chrissy Boeltz for an answer. Boeltz delivered with a strike to the back of the net – securing the big road win for Greene at 2-1.

The teams were near even in corners, with Greene having nine and M-E having seven – McKenna Sergi of Greene and Jenna Zunic of M-E each added an assist. Brooke Austin was only asked to make one save for the Trojans, as Austin recorded the win – M-E managed just three shots on goal.
