S-E Swimming and Diving topped by Whitesboro in close meet

SHERBURNE — Competing tough until the very last event, the Marauders lost a close battle during senior night with Whitesboro Wednesday night, 35-55.
Sherburne-Earlville placed first and second in the diving event, with Anna Rinaldo taking top honors with a score of 157.57. Teammate Kiana Marshall finished second, scoring a 139.28 with her dives.
For the home team, Rachel Ryan finished the 200 yard freestyle event in the number two spot, recording a time of 2:51.35 with Ashley Ryan finished two seconds behind.
Marauders Dalaney Parker grabbed the third place finish in the 50 yard freestyle sprint at 31.74 seconds.
Rebecca Karaman took top honors in the 500 yard freestyle for S–E and a time of 7:32.77.
The final event of the evening was the 100 yard breaststroke and Sherburne-Earlville received second and third place from swimmers Rinaldo and Megan Hailston.
S-E will be back in the pool on Monday, September 25 as they take on Rome free academy in their home pool. The meet is scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
