Norwich Girls Soccer takes down Sabers 1-0

NORWICH — The lady tornado varsity soccer team were able to capitalize on one goal, after several near misses to top the Susquehanna Valley Sabers 1-0 on Thursday night.
Sus. Valley made the first run of the night as the Sabersm, Olivia Parker, put a shot on goal – however, it was saved by Norwich goalie Saige Benedict.
After that attempt for SV, the game was all Tornado.
Sydney Coggins took two shots before punching it into the net on her third, giving Norwich the 1-0 lead in the first half.
In the second half, Coggins crossed a ball in front of the net for Norwich and teammate Hannah Klockowski put a foot on it. But the ball nearly missed as it went just outside the near post in Klockowski’s attempt.
The lady tornado would finish the game winning 1-0 over Susquehanna Valley.
