National Christian recording artists to perform at Calvary Baptist Church on Thursday
NORWICH – Calvary Baptist Church will play venue for a performance by Grammy-nominated Christian band Building 429 this Thursday, Sept. 28 for the first stop in the national Worship in the Round Tour.
Building 429 will be accompanied by supporting acts Josh Wilson and Chris August on Thursday, and the show will begin at 6 p.m.
"This is our fifth concert and it's just an absolute privilege to bring in these national tours," said Tina Lindridge of Calvary Baptist Church.
"It is our hope that we can unite churches in our area and bring in people in the community because the music and stories are so inspirational and encouraging."
Building 429's hit-single "Where I Belong" was named Billboard Magazine's number one Christian song of 2012. Its most recent release, Unashamed, was named among iTunes' Top 10 Christian/Gospel albums of the year in 2015.
Josh Wilson has amassed six Top 10 hits on Billboard's Hot Christian Songs chart, including his hit "Before The Morning," which landed the number four spot on Billboard's end of the year Christian songs chart in 2012.
In addition to releasing three number one radio singles hits, Chris August has been recipient of three Dove Awards: Male Vocalist of the Year, Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year, and New Artist of the Year.
"The acts will be playing some of our church songs as well," said Lindridge. "We all need that lifting up and regrounding, and us being the avenue to get them in here is truly a blessing."
Lindridge said the performers will be selling merchandise at the event, and that attendees will have an opportunity to meet the artists and get a picture taken with them following the show.
General seating tickets are $20 and can be purchased in advance by calling the church at (607) 334-6698, or visiting www.eventbrite.com. V.I.P tickets can also be purchased for $35.
Tickets can also be purchased at the door the evening of the show, but event organizers are encouraging those who are interested in attending to purchase their tickets in advance.
The event is the second music show in the Calvary Baptist Church's bi-annual performance series, the first being Jason Gray earlier this year.
