GREENE – The Chenango County Sherriff's Office arrested two Town of Greene residents on September 21.

The Sheriff's charged Chad J. Shields, 47, and Shawn T. Rhodes, 19, each with one count of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. Shields was also charged with one count of first-degree criminal nuisance and Rhodes was additionally charged with one count of seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance.

The arrests were made after a search warrant was issued by County Court Judge Frank B. Revoir Jr. following an ongoing investigation into the sale of cocaine and methamphetamine in Chenango County.

Shields and Rhodes were arraigned in the Town of Oxford Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $30,000 cash bail.

The Chenango Sheriff's Office is being assisted by the Greene Police Department, New York State Police and the Chenango County District Attorney's Office.
