Marauders XC Competes at Hamilton Duals

HAMILTON – The Sherburne-Earlville Marauders Cross-Country team took to the Colgate University campus on trails on Wednesday September 20, to compete against a plethora of Center State Conference competition.
For the Sherburne-Earlville boys, they were unable to record the lowest score in their respective match-ups as they lost to Hamilton by a score of 21-35, Canastota won 23-34, Mount Markham won 22-39 and Sauquoit Valley won with a sweep by a final score of 15-50. Adam Aldrich led the way for the Marauders placing 16 as he timed 17:19 minutes over the condensed 4K course. John Maltzan finished two spots back in 18, finishing with a time of 17:27. Dennis Dehart continued the scoring for S-E finishing with a time of 20:57, working hard for a 38-spot finish. Right behind Dehart was Connor Foster who paced off of his teammate for a 39-place finish for a time of 21:02. Luis Bohorquer placed 43 with a time of 24:42 as the fifth runner for the Marauders, completing the scoring for S-E in the process. The sixth and seventh members of the S-E XC serving as displacement runners were Matthew Ryan and Riley Webster who placed 44 and 45 respectively, with Ryan recording a time of 25:01, and Webster finishing with a time of 25:02.
For the women’s race, Sherburne-Earlville ran an incomplete team, having only one runner in the race. Emma Baker played the role of the sole S-E girls runner to grace the twists and turns of the Colgate trials. Baker produced a 24-place finish on her way to a time of 28:19, turning in a solid performance to conclude the afternoon full of races for the Marauders.
Sherburne-Earlville is back in action Wednesday, September 27, at 4:30 p.m. when they travel to Cooperstown for another dual meet between Little Falls, Herkimer, and host Cooperstown.
