Bobcats soccer pushes Sidney for late-game 2-0 win

BAINBRIDGE – A Friday evening game of soccer in Bainbridge, and the Bobcats defended their home field for a 2-1 win over Sidney.
A 0-0 first half of play made for an exciting second half on Friday, September 22. The Sidney Warriors managed 10 shots on goal with 10 penalty corner kicks – however, only scored once when Ryan Arnold took the assist from Jon Palmatier for the second half score.
Besting Sidney in the score – yet getting bested in the stats, B-G saw just nine shots on goal and five corners.
Scoring for the Bobcats – both in the second half – was Ryan Porter 2-0, earning brace on the day. Ryan Cooper added one assist in the 2-1 win at home for the Bobcats.
In goal for both squads, Colin Compton of Sidney had five saves; while Zach Graham of B-G had eight saves.
Next up for the Bainbridge-Guilford boys soccer team, they will again be home when they host Unadilla Valley on Tuesday, September 26, at 4:30 p.m.
