Oxford volleyball rips Sidney for easy 3-0 win
SIDNEY – The lady Blackhawks volleyball team has had quite the break in action – however, they accumulated no rust as Oxford earned the 3-0 win over Sidney on Monday night.
Winning all three sets – and not allowing more that 20 points to be scored on the them – Oxford managed a solid showing on the road, on September 25.
In the first set, the lady Blackhawks saw their best score results, with a nice 25-17 win. Sidney responded with their best set – Oxford won at 25-20. The final set, Oxford earning the set win at 25-18.
Helping to lead the Oxford lady Blackhawks to their second win of the season was none other than Allison Beckwith. Beckwith had one ace, two kills, and seven digs in the road win. Following Beckwith for Oxford was: Jourdan Pinney with two aces; Kelsey Drewniak with four kills and five digs; Jessie Howe with three kills, two digs, and one ace; Kaitlin Mulwane with two digs; Megan Smith with three digs; and Savannah Beech and Krysten Vigus with one ace each.
For Sidney: Julia Obeada had seven aces and three digs. Juliet Gagliardo had four kills and three digs. Makayla Hurd had two aces and three kills. Hannah Baxter had two assists and Baylee Jones two kills.
Next up for Oxford volleyball (2-2 overall, 2-1 league), the lady Blackhawks will be on the road when they travel to play Greene on Wednesday, September 27, at 4:30 p.m.
