UNATEGO – The 3-0 win for the lady Spartans of Unatego came with little resistance from the visiting Hornets of Harpursville-Afton.
Harpursville-Afton traveled to Unatego on Monday, September 25, for a matchup with the then 5-2 Spartans.
In the first set, Unatego was faced with their biggest challenge of the night when the Hornets fought to a 25-19 loss. Set two and three were different stories – as Unatego pulled away for a set two win at 25-14 and a set three win at 25-13.
In the loss for Harpursville-Afton: Madison Baker had two aces and three kills. Oliviah Harris-Morris had one kill and two assists – while Stefanie Allen had two assists, and Alissa McCrimmon had two digs.
For Unatego in their home win, Carly Hill had five aces, followed by Alyssa Blanco with four aces. Kaitlyn Rivera had two kills and Madison Rivera managed one kill. Allie Hoyle had one dig. Megan Short and Alyssa Blanco each secured one block.
