Marauders swimming downed by Rome Free Academy Black Knights
SHERBURNE – The Marauders of Sherburne-Earlville recorded points for their team total in every swim event but it wasn’t enough to beat out Rome Free Academy; the final being 70-27.
Kiana Marshall swam to a second-place finish in the 200 yard freestyle, .29 of a second behind first-place Molly Riggleman of RFA. The 200 Yard Individual Medley was the event immediately and S-E’s Anna Rinaldo grabbed second place points for her team as well.
Rachel Ryan finished in third behind two RFA Swimmers with a time of 33.21 seconds.
Marshall displayed her dives for first place with a score of 132.83. Marshall was also a part of the 200 Yard Freestyle (second place) and 400 Yard Freestyle relay (third place), each race with teammates Rinaldo and Ryan. Megan Hailston swam with the team in the 200 and Rebecca Karaman filled the team for the 400.
Hailston took second in her own race – the 100 Yard Breaststroke. Karaman swam the 500 Yard Freestyle and finished the distance race with a time of 6:56.42.
Dalaney Parker and Ashley Ryan took second and third in the 100 Yard Freestyle – a different of less than a second between the two.
The Marauders are in the pool again Tuesday as they travel to Holland Patent for their second meet of three scheduled this week.
