Bobcats blank UV with big first half

BAINBRIDGE – The Bainbridge-Guilford boys soccer team now, once again, holds bragging rights over their fellow MAC rival the Unadilla Valley Storm – following their 2-0 win on Tuesday.

The difference was the shots on goal in the Tuesday, September 26, contest – as the Bobcats had 15 shots on goal – to which UV’s goalkeeper, Adam Lamont, had 13 big saves.

For the visiting Storm, they saw a measly three shots on goal – to which B-G keeper, Xavier Cherniak made all three saves.

Scoring in the first half for the Bobcats was the duo of Devon Scherhuafer and Ryan Porter.

“B-G scored on a nice cross by Jake Hotchkin to Devon Scherhaufer, who beautifully volleyed into the back of the net to put the Bobcats up 1-0,” said Bainbridge-Guilford head coach Travis Smith. “15 minutes later, Daiden Canfield threw it in to Ryan Porter who scored to put B-G up 2-0 at halftime.
