Early lead ripped from S-E as Little Falls runs away with big 7-1 win

LITTLE FALLS – The Sherburne-Earlville field hockey led at 1-0 in their Wednesday game, that is, they led Little Falls for just a short time before losing 7-1 on the road.
Heading to Little Falls on Wednesday, September 27, Sherburne-Earlville’s Alison Smith – a freshman – lifting the lady Marauders to an early lead.
That being said, S-E allowed seven consecutive goals to take the road loss – as Little Falls had 12 shots to S-E’s four.
Little Falls also outmaneuvered the Marauders in the corners, having 11 to S-E’s five.
Scoring for Little Falls in their big win was Morgan Slabe (two goals and two assists), Izzi Batisti (scored at 29:16 in the first half), Miranda Hubbell (scored at 21:17 in the first half), Clare Connelly (scored at 29:00 in the second half), Caitlyn Grace (scored at 24:34 in the second half), Natasha Massicotte (scored with :30 left in the second half).
Little Falls took their 4-1 halftime score and added three additional goals to take the win at 7-1.
Next up for Sherburne-Earlville field hockey (3-6 overall, 0-3 league), will be heading to Sidney on Friday, September 29, and Saturday, September 30, for Sidney’s home field hockey tournament.
