Bainbridge-Guilford destroys UV, Selfridge sisters shine
BAINBRIDGE – Make it eight straight games for the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats who just defeated Unadilla Valley at 3-0 on Wednesday.
Unadilla Valley made the trip over to Bainbridge-Guilford to take on the lady Bobcats on Wednesday, September 27, however, it was a one-sided competition.
B-G employed the deadly Selfridge sisters to do a majority of the damage in their 3-0 win. Older sister, Abigail Selfridge, accounted for three aces, nine assists, nine kills, and one dig. Younger sister, Erica, managed six aces, 13 assists, two kills, and two digs.
Bainbridge-Guilford earned a quick two wins at 25-9 and 25-11. Unadilla Valley attempted to make a stand in the third set, coming up short at 25-16. B-G’s Zamira Caldwell claimed two aces and four kills, while Kristen Chambers had one block and four kills.
Despite UV’s 3-0 loss, solid individual play came from Jenna Hitt one ace, three kills, Erin Brooks one ace, Izora Ramsey with two kills, Sierra Schrag with five assists and Erin Kelly with one assist and seven digs.
Next up for Unadilla Valley volleyball, they will be home against Oxford on Friday, September 29, at 6:30 p.m.
Bainbridge-Guilford volleyball (8-1 overall, 6-0 league) will be on the road next for a match against Deposit on Thursday, September 28, at 6:30 p.m.
