Lady Blackhawks cornered into loss by Franklin

OXFORD — For most of the contest, the ball was in Oxford's defensive half and with the offensive pressure by Franklin, the Blackhawks girls soccer team went down 3-0 Wednesday evening.
All three of the Purple Devils tallies came off of redirected corner kicks. Kristen Brownell recorded two assists during the game as the corner balls came from her foot. Lexy Cox found the back of the net twice while colleague Marissa Campbell got her foot on the third.
Franklin kept Oxford's two goalkeepers busy as they fired a total of 12 shots at Lexi Kohlhepp and Taylor Moore. Kohlhepp stopped nine shots while Moore saved one.
Oxford hosts their annual tournament starting Thursday evening, September 28. First round games include Schenevus against Chenango Valley at 4:30 p.m. and an Oxford-Greene rematch from just a couple weeks ago as the night cap at 6:30 p.m.
