Marauders and Indians rematch ends in 1-1 tie

SHERBURNE – For the second time this season, Waterville and Sherburne-Earlville's boys soccer went the distance, plus two overtimes. This rematch ended in a 1-1 tie.
Waterville won the previous match in thrilling 3-2 with the game winning goal coming in the final minute.
The Marauders opened up the scoring with Mitchell Doing converting on a rebound after the first shot was saved by Waterville's goalkeeper Tyler Jones.
S-E carried the lead into the second half until Indians Austin Hutchins converted a direct kick for a goal inside the 18 yard box.
Both teams created opportunities but neither keeper would budge to allow any more goals to pass – resulting in the ultimate 1-1 score.
The Marauders next play the Greene Trojans in the Greene Soccer Tournament over this coming weekend, which will also feature Chenango Forks and Afton-Harpusville.
