Jackson records an eagle; Storm finishes regular season with 10 wins
EDMESTON — Unadilla Valley's Andrew Jackson recorded his first career eagle on the par five ninth hole at Red Pines. Jackson took two shots to put the ball on the green then finished with a 20-foot putt to show a three on his scorecard. He posted a 40 for the round.
The Storm recognized their two seniors Sam Loeffler and Gabrielle Bodie as they took their fourth straight victory over Bainbridge-Guilford 242-291. Loeffler ended his regular season career on a high note, recording a season best 44 for himself.
"I have had Sam for four years now and his game has really come along over the years," said Storm Head Coach Carl Convis.
The Bobcats Triston Wilson grabbed top honors by shooting 54 for the evening. Jared Proskowski finished in second for B-G's top five golfers.
Rounding out the scorecard for Bainbridge-Guilford was Caleb Presley shooting a 57, Alexis Nichols with a 59 and Thomas Lord posting a 65.
Brandon Kneale of the host team shot a 41 while teammate Jacob Figger finished in the top five for the first time this season with a 56. Drew Emrich posted a 61 to grab the final spot in UV's top five.
"We have improved a lot from last year to this year. I really have high hopes for my golfers at the MAC Championship," said Convis on his team's ten win season.
Both teams will head to the MAC Conference Championship held at Chenango Valley State Park next Tuesday, October 3. Play beings at 9 a.m.
