B-G volleyball reaches ninth win amid stellar season
DEPOSIT – Another matchup between Bainbridge-Guilford’s volleyball team and their opponents, resulting in another 3-0 win for the dangerous lady Bobcats.
Frankly it hasn’t mattered who the opponent was of late, the result is that Bainbridge-Guilford walks away the victors – as they are now part of a nine-game win streak.
3-0 against Deposit-Hancock, on the road, on Thursday, September 28, it was junior Alexis Carr who lifted herself up and helped the Bobcats earn the win – a win that the defense didn’t allow more than 10 points to be scored in any set.
“Deposit-Hancock had some really great passers, making my girls work hard for kills. Alexis Carr had been in a bit of a slump lately but she kicked it up tonight. Her serves and hits were spot on tonight. We are really playing well after last weekend’s Johnson City tournament and it’s exciting to see,” said Bainbridge-Guilford head coach Tami Selfridge.
B-G dominated the home team with two opening sets which saw the Bobcats take wins at 25-10. The third set, even worse, as Bainbridge-Guilford added their final win at 25-8.
B-G’s top performers in their Thursday win were: Abigail Selfridge with three aces, eight assists and nine kills; Alexis Carr with eight aces and five kills; Erica Selfridge with seven aces, 14 assists and one kill; and Zamira Caldwell with three aces, one block and five kills.
Next up for Bainbridge-Guilford volleyball (9-1 overall) they will be home against Unatego on Tuesday, October 3, at 6:30 p.m.
