Norwich male charged with dealing meth and heroin

NORWICH – The Norwich City Police Department and the Chenango County Sheriff's office concluded a month long investigation into the sale of methamphetamine in the City of Norwich Friday and arrested one man for felony drug charges.

24-year-old Bradley M. Bishop, was arrested and charged by the Norwich City PD for the sale of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony.

He was also charged with the same felony by the sheriff's office; the charges involve two separate incidents that both occurred in the City of Norwich. The Norwich police also charged him with two counts of possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree,class A misdemeanors.

At the time of arrest Bishop was allegedly in possessed of methamphetamine and heroin, quantities of which have not yet been released by detectives pending testing.

Bishop appeared before Norwich City Court Judge James Downey on Friday afternoon and was remanded to jail on $10,000 cash bail. He was also arraigned on a pending bench warrant issued by the Chenango County Court for failing to comply with the conditions of his release over a previous charge and is currently being held without bail in that case.

Bishop will appear in Norwich City Court at a later date.
