Black Knights blanket Afton for shutout win

AFTON – A medieval battle for the ages – or one to forget – the Crimson Knights fought valiantly on Monday, but came up short to Windsor’s boys soccer team at 4-0.
A big 3-0 half for Windsor saw the Black Knights fighting from behind early on. The Black Knights tacked on a fourth goal in the second half of play – making the 4-0 win on the road a reality on Monday, October 2.
Scoring for Windsor was Chris DeJohn, John Oliver, and Noah Frear. Carter VanZandt added two assists, with Noa Lawrence adding one as well – Afton unfortunately scored on themselves off an own goal.
Windsor managed nine shots on goal and 10 corners, while the Crimson Knights had just two shots and two corners.
Star goalkeeper, Afton’s Christian Noyes, made six saves in the home loss. Windsor’s Noah Frear and Nick Riley each recorded one save each while playing goalkeeper in the 4-0 win.
Next up for Afton-Harpursville soccer, they will be on the road next when they travel to play Bainbridge-Guilford on Wednesday, October 4, at 6:30 p.m.
