Lady Vikings downed in back-to-back games
OTSELIC – The first game of two in a row for Otselic Valley was a 5-1 loss to Fabuis-Pompey on the road.
Fabius-Pompey out shot the Vikings 23-5 in the contest, scoring on five. Madi Riedel recorded a hat trick for the Falcons while teammates Tori Heaelden and Hailey Niles each scored one. Niles also added an assist to her statline.
Grace Costa scored Otselic’s lone goal of the contest. Her colleague in front of the net, Lezxi Hazzard stopped 13 of the Falcon’s 18 shots on goal.
The next day, Otselic Valley faced another tough opponent in the McGraw Eagles, losing the contest 4-0.
It proved to be a tough game offensively for the Vikings as the ball spent a lot of time in their defensive half of field, ultimately tiring out the defense and allowing the Eagles to control the game.
“Having three key offensive players out with injuries has really hurt our offensive abilities,” said Head Coach Eric Wentworth of Otselic Valley. “However, our defense has played extremely well each game, including tonight.”
Lacy Wood saved 11 as the keeper for the Vikings in the game against McGraw. McGraw took 15 shots on goal.
Oteslic hosts Stockbridge Valley on Thursday for the Senior Recognition game that will honor their four seniors. Kick-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
