NORWICH- The Lady Crusaders soccer team from Valley Heights have faced stark competition in their last two outings, the most recent against Baldwinsville Christian Academy on Tuesday October 3.
The second outing for the Crusaders failed to go their way. In their last match-up against Baldwinsville, the game ended in a stalemate with each team bagging a goal apiece. Despite their tough opposition, VHCA managed to open the scoring in the game with a early first-half goal from Macey Montgomery.
Leading since the first-half and as the clock slowly ticked off late in the game, the Crusaders just needed to prevent one thing; a Baldwinsville goal. Unfortunately, fate played a role in the match-up and Baldwinsville found their niche just in time as they scored an equalizer with two-minutes remaining in the contest. The overtime period proved to be just as hurtful to the visiting Crusaders as Baldwinsville scored again, taking the game in the decisive extra time by a score of 2-1.
