Bobcats season ends in first round loss to Walton

WALTON – Three different Warriors scored as Walton defeated the Bobcats of Bainbridge-Guilford 3-1 in the first round of the Section IV Class C playoffs.
Warriors' Tommy Maguire scored the first goal of the contest at six and a half minutes in on his shot attempt to the lower corner passed by B-G goalie Xavier Cherniak.
Tacking on the second goal for Walton was Ben Conrow as he took a shot from outside the 18 yard box. Conrow's shot hit the upper corner of the net, just nine minutes after the Warriors' first goal.
Joey Yambor scored on a cross field pass from his teammate Owen Pieper early second half to make the score 3-0 in favor of Walton.
B-G tallied one on the scoreboard with a goal provided by Jon Pratt with 3:51 left in the game. Unfortunately, Pratt's goal was the only produced for the Bobcats.
Cherniak recorded six saves for Bobcats while Kaiden Vernold made two stops for Walton.
Walton (10-6-1) travels to Seton Catholic, who is the top seed in the Section IV Class C Tournament. Game is currently scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 21. Date will stay the same but the time is subject to change.
