NORWICH – Fall is here and the holidays are approaching, so why not kick off the season of fun and excitement by joining Catholic Charities for the very first Dancing with the Chenango Celebrities?

Catholic Charities of Chenango County, along with the Perkins School of the Arts, invites everyone to watch their favorite local celebrities dance for charity and compete to be the People's Choice dancers of the evening.

The evening will begin at 7 p.m. and will end with a 'Meet and Greet' reception at Gus’s Steakhouse immediately following. Pre-sale tickets are $10.00 and will be $15.00 at the door the day of the event. For tickets please call Catholic Charities of Chenango County front desk at (607)-334-8244.

In an interview with Catholic Charities, when asked what participating meant to him, celebrity dancer Tyler Oliver said, "It feels great, I'm happy to do it, and I'm excited to do it. I think it's an awesome concept, nothing like this has been done before, so to introduce something new to the community is what it's all about."

The programs at Catholic Charities of Chenango County provide many services and support for people in the community. Tiffani Gager of Catholic Charities says events and fundraisers like this make it possible to provide these services to individuals and families in need.

Gager says of the event, "Everybody is excited, everybody is talking about it, everybody can't wait for it, people are so happy!"

Perkins student dancer Holly Sullivan said, "I really love the concept of giving back to my community while also sharing my passion."

Catholic Charities board member Sharon Wilson knew this event would be perfect for Norwich, and organized it based off a similar event located in Easton, Pa.

The event will be held at the Council of The Arts building located on 27 W Main St in Norwich.
