Delhi downs Hornets in three sets
DELHI – The Lady Bulldogs dominated the match against Harpursville-Afton Thursday night, winning in three straight sets.
Defensively, Delhi did not allow the Lady Hornets to score more than 16 points in any of the games played. The Bulldogs recorded defensive stats by Hannah Baxter (four blocks), Alyssa Mason (four blocks) and Jessi Davis (12 digs).
Harpursville-Afton was led by Alissa McCrimmon as she finished the match with two aces, one kill, and one block. Her teammate, Megan Sculley also had two aces in the contest and she added two digs.
Both teams will wait to hear about a possibly sectional seed when Section IV will hold the seed meeting for Volleyball on Tuesday. Sectional information will be posted in a later edition of The Evening Sun.

Lady Storm bests Sidney in three straight sets
NEW BERLIN – Unadilla Valley hosted Sidney in a MAC playoff match on Thursday. The Storm took down the visiting team in convincing fashion, winning in three sets and not allowing the Lady Warriors to score more than 19 points.
UV took the first set 25-17 and grabbed the second game 25-16.
Sidney looked to get something started, hoping to take the third set but were overpowered by the defense of the Storm as Unadilla Valley took the third and final game of the match 25-19.
Rebecca Ruffino finished the match with four aces and seven digs to lead the Storm along with teammate Erin Kelly, who recorded four aces, five assists and seven digs.
Sidney was led by Juliet Gagliardo as tallied four aces and four kills.
Both teams now await the seed selections for the Section IV tournament, which should be annouced on Tuesday.

Lady Trojans sweep Deposit-Hancock in three sets
GREENE – The Lady Trojans of Greene took down their opponents, the Eagles of Deposit-Hancock, in three straight sets in the MAC playoff match the Trojans hosted Thursday night.
Capturing the first game win 25-23, Greene took no time to win the second as they won 25-18.
The Trojans followed up in the third with a 25-17 win, taking the match in that set.
Deposit-Hancock offense was led by Haleigh Nugent as she recorded seven kills and four aces. Her teammate, Abby Chase added four kills and three digs while Trinity Crawson assisted on five points during the match.
Greene’s Cheyenne Rich ended the match with four aces and two digs. Val Stracquandanio and Kira bush both recorded three kills for the Trojans.
Both teams will now wait until Tuesday night for the Section IV seed meeting.
