Week Nine of The Evening Sun Football Contest

With one week remaining in The Evening Sun Football Contest, we have our first repeat winner of the season.

This week, Sylvia Figary of Norwich, won with 15 correct responses and the closest total point amount with the correct team for the tie-breaker. Sylvia predicted Georgia to prevail over the Gamecocks of South Carolina with a score of 26-6, for a total of 32 points. The actual score total score for the two teams was 34 points (24-10 Georgia), giving her a two point win over four other entries that also had 15 correct responses.

Sylvia’s incorrect predictions were Penn State, a game that most entries picked but Michigan State pulled off the upset over the seventh ranked team to shock the nation, Oklahoma State, Air Force, Texans and 49ers.
