NORWICH – This Sunday, November 19, locals will see people from near and far take to the streets of Norwich for the 36th annual Norwich Family YMCA Turkey Trot.

Over the last several years, the number of participants has averaged around 600-650 racers in the 5k run/walk. Last year’s race was an exception as the weather interfered, but the YMCA still had 397 participate.

But the annual race has become more than just a race; it’s a holiday tradition.

For 36 years, the race has been a feature fundraising event for the YMCA on the Sunday before Thanksgiving.
