Norwich swims past Greene in local non-league showdown

NORWICH – Just 24 hours after losing to Windsor, the Norwich swimming and diving team jumped back into the pool to face the Greene Trojans in a non-league meet on Friday. The Purple Tornado quickly rebounded from their loss to Windsor the night before, topping Greene 78-53.

Matt Gigilo, of the Purple, took home many first-place finishes, including in the 1-meter diving, as he finished with a score of 202.30. Giglio also grabbed a first in the 100-yard Butterfly with a time of 1:07.49 and was a part of two relay teams who snagged a first-place time.

Aiden Sullivan, Ryan Loeffler and Cameron Pittsley were members of the 200-yard Medley Relay team, along with Gigilo, that touched the wall first with a time of 2:08.64. Gigilo and Loeffler teammed up with Dakota Spina and Griffin Frank for the 200-yard Freestyle Relay and they finished with a time of 1:50.25.
