NHS Indoor Track competed at 607 Invitational Friday

ITHACA – On Friday December 15 the Norwich Purple Tornado indoor track team traveled to Ithaca College for the 607 Invitational and recorded several top finishes by the end of the night.
For the women, Caroline Stewart was the sole NHS girl, claiming the top slots in her events. In her first event, Stewart placed fifth in the long jump with her 15-feet-two inch performance. Stewart concluded her night with a victory in the triple jump, taking the top of the podium with a remarkable 33 feet-six-inch finish.
On the boy’s side, Eric Conant finished first in the 55-meter dash final with a time of 6.72 seconds. Conant later placed sixth in the long jump in his 19-feet-five and half inch vault.
Zack Race made his season debut and in his first indoor meet of the year, placed fifth in the 300-meter dash with a time of 37.75 seconds.
Moving into the middle-distance and distance races, Noah Bufalini placed sixth in the 600-meter race in a time of 1:30.92 minutes. Gabe Gawronski claimed a second place finish running to a time of 2:40.56 minutes in the 1000-meter run.
In the 4x400 meter relay team consisting of Connor Nial, Noah Bufalini, Scott Tomanocy, and Gabe Gawronski placed second in a time of 3:41.
The Tornado are back in action on December 27 and 29, with a time and venue to be determined later.
