Chenango Arts Council announces Spring Workshops
NORWICH – Why not try your hand at expressing yourself through one of our exciting art workshops?
This spring the Chenango Arts Council is pleased to offer many unique and interesting classes including glass etching, painting, ceramics, watercolor instruction and more all led by local professional artists sourced from right here in Chenango County.
“Based interest and turnout from previous workshops, the CAC has continued its search for new and exciting classes to offer with mediums and techniques not found elsewhere locally,” said CAC Executive Director Alecia Oneill. “It is our goal to engage with the community through the arts, and bringing fresh ideas to the table enables the Arts Council to do just that.”
The CAC's next scheduled workshop—glass etching with Matt Wilson—will be held this Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. Price is $40 and includes all instruction and materials.
Other future workshops include Valentine's Day Chocolate and Glass Painting on Sunday, February 11 from noon-2:30 p.m. Much like the ever popular 'wine and paint' classes, artists will sample delicious chocolate while hand-painting glassware. Chocolate and materials are included in the $40 registration fee.
On Monday evenings in March, the Arts Council will be hosting transparent Watercolor Workshops with revered local watercolor artist Carl Houghton. The fee is just $60 for all four classes held each Monday evening in March from 6-8 p.m.
Lastly, a Mothers' Day Paint workshop is scheduled for Sunday, May 5 from noon-2:30 p.m. The paint workshop is a beginner to intermediate course designed for your enjoyment and to create a floral painting on a wooden canvas. The $40. fee includes instruction and all material.
The CAC will yet again host another of its popular adult ceramics workshops led by Matt Wilson of Wilson Ceramics. Spring Ceramics is an adult beginner to intermediate course designed to teach
a variety of clay processes and runs for four consecutive Sundays in April from 6-8 p.m. Registration fee for ceramics is $90.
All workshops are open to the public and available on a first-come, first-served basis only. Classes are held in room 107 of the Chenango Arts Council, 27 West Main Street, Norwich; and discounts are available for all class offerings for current CAC members.
Those interested in any class can purchase their registration online at www.ChenangoArts.org; by phone at 607.336.2787 or in person at the CAC main office. All are encouraged to inquire early as seating is limited.
