Fatal house fire occurs in Delaware County
DAVENPORT – A structural fire in Delaware County took the lives of two children and left their father with burn injuries; cause of the fire is still unsure.
On February 9, New York State Police at Oneonta responded to a 911 report of a structural fire on Dehning road in the town of Davenport.
An investigation determined that two children died during the fire and one adult victim was taken to Upstate Medical in Syracuse.
The fire was extinguished by Davenport Fire Department, Pindars Corners Fire Dept., Hobart Fire Dept., and Kortright Fire Dept.
New York State Police were assisted by the Delaware County Sheriff's department.
State fire investigators are assisting with the ongoing investigation surrounding the cause of the fire.
