Unadilla drug bust leaves three individuals behind bars
UNADILLA – New York State Police at Sidney completed a two-months long narcotics investigation on Friday, February 23 with the arrest of three individuals for criminal possession of controlled substance in the first degree, a class A-I felony, and other charges.
Darryl R. Lloyd, 35, Justin A. Lloyd, 27, and Nicole S. Ruiz, 27, were taken into custody without incident Friday after authorities executed a search warrant at 627 Prentice Gorge Road in the Town of Unadilla.
The search warrant resulted in the seizure of 11 ounces of cocaine, 11 ounces of concentrated cannabis, 15 pounds of processed marijuana, drug packaging material, a grinder utilized to mix cocaine, cell phones, $8,000 in U.S. Currency, and $2,000 in Western Union Checks from the residence.
Otsego County District Attorney John M. Muehl said the determinate sentence for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the first degree is up to 20 years.
All three of the accused are from the Town of Unadilla, and in addition to criminal possession of a controlled substance, stand accused of criminal possession of marijuana in the second degree, a class D felony, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a class C felony, and two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, a misdemeanor.
The defendants were remanded to Otsego County Jail without bail after being arraigned before the Town of Otsego Court.
