All-American BMX rides in weekend double-header

ENDICOTT – A total of 18 All-American BMX team riders raced at Grippen Park BMX over the course of Saturday, March 10 and Sunday, March 11.

The BMX squad preformed to their usual standards as no racer placed outside the top four on Saturday. 10 riders raced in eight different classes, with the oldest being in the 17-20 expert class.

Flying Fynlee Ballin was the first All-American BMX rider to place at the top of the podium, taking first-place in the balance bike class.

New to the team this season, Chloe Smith grabbed a third-place finish in the 7-year old novice class.

Camyrn ‘Crazy Legs’ Searfoss placed second in the 9-year old novice class while teammate Liam ‘Bad to the Bone’ Ballin stood with her on the podium in fourth-place.

The last of the novice class riders was Calvin Smith, who is also new to All-American BMX this season. Smith raced his way to a second-place finish in the 10-year old group of novice class.

Moving up to the riders of the intermediate classes, Ethan ‘Big Air’ Willis brought home the top prize in the 8-year old age group, while teammate Timmy Miner took home second in the 10-year old level.

Racing in two different classes, Patrick ‘The Beast’ White finished third in both the 11-year old intermediate class and the cruiser class.

The team had two riders of the team race in the expert class. Vinny ‘Rapid Redline’ Lawson is the youngest of the two, racing in the 9-year old group. Lawson finished in second-place of the age level.

Carter Rudnitski, the last of the 10 racers for the team, snagged third-place in the 17-20 group.

Nine of the 10 riders who raced on Saturday, turned around and traveled back to track in Endicott on Sunday. The nine riders were joined by another eight riders of the team as All-American BMX raced a total of 17 throughout the day.

Joining Fynlee Ballin in the balance bike class were Brently and Bryson Grey. All-American BMX swept the podium in the class as Brently Grey took top prize on Sunday with Flynee Ballin coming in second and Bryson grey grabbing third.

In the novice class, Chloe Smith raced for the second day in a row and again finished in third with another strong showing.

Both Xavier Bundy and Mason Harvey joined Smith the in the 7 year old age level. Bundy snagged the second-place finish while Harvey took home sixth.

Battling it out on the track again, Camyrn ‘Crazy Legs’ Searfoss and Liam ‘Bad to the Bone’ Ballin were joined by teammate Tim White in 9 year old novice class. The three also swept the podium, placing in the order of Searfoss, Ballin and White.

Calvin Smith again placed second in 10 year old novice class, taking home two second-place finishes for the weekend.

Elliott Harvey and Colin Menard raced in the 11 year old novice class. Harvey placed first while Menard stood with the top five finishers at fourth.

Patrick ‘The Beast’ White returned Sunday for more action on the track. This day, White raced in only one class and placed in third of the 11 year old intermediate class.

Carter Rudnitski improved from the day before, taking home a second-finish in the 17-30 intermediate class.

Repeating his performance from the day before, Vinny ‘Rapid Redline’ Lawson grabbed second in 9 year old expert class

Rounding out the 17 racers for the group, All-American BMX rider Dave Harvey finished third in the in 46 and over expert class.

The team is finishing up the Winter Series at Grippen Park BMX as four races remain. All-American BMX will return on Saturday afternoon but will hit the track Friday night for a practice session.
