Norwich Subway at Walmart welcomes new ownership

After starting off as a part-time employee in 2011, Eileen Egnaczak recently became the owner of the Subway located in the Norwich Walmart on Route 12. Eileen was very thankful for the support of her friends and family throughout the process.
Egnaczak spoke about the experience and said, "I was born and raised in Norwich, and I've had many jobs over the years, but I guess the day I walked into Subway my fate was sealed. I've never had a job that I've loved so much."
The Subway was previously operated by Amy Spooner, and according to Egnaczak, Spooner was a very good friend and mentor who offered to sell her the restaurant and helped her through the purchasing process. Since the change in ownership Egnaczak has relied on family including her sister Sharon Egnaczak and brother-in-law Joe Pruskowski, who helped her when she needed it most. She also hired-on her daughter Desiree Spencer. She said she looks forward to the day her daughter becomes the new owner of the Subway, and as a reminder to her family, she said, "you don't get a discount." – Zachary Meseck, Sun Staff Writer
