Guilford Historical Society cancels this year's Guilford Day

GUILFORD – The Guilford Historical Society (GHS) Board of Trustees, who sponsored Guilford Day 2018, have decided to suspend plans for Guilford Day until next year, and the GHS Board and members will instead focus their time and efforts on the 20th Anniversary Celebration of the Guilford Historical Society.

This decision was reached after discussion and consideration of the several issues surrounding Guilford Day, including the need of additional committee members to lead and assist with the planning and executing this community event and a concern about taking on too much at one time for this small community.

he Guilford Historical Society will be holding a major celebration for their 20th anniversary year on Saturday July 21 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at their facility in Guilford Center.

Plans are being made for a ribbon cutting ceremony, tours of the historical center's displays and genealogy center, an auction and flea market. Contact Scott Parsons, President of GHS, for further information (607-895-6405).

The Guilford Day Committee wishes to thank all of our past participants and attendees and regretfully notify all that Guilford Day 2018 is cancelled. Our 2017 Guilford Day was the best ever due to your participation and we look forward to a 2019 return of this annual event.
