Eric Andersen’s CD release tour comes to 6OTS
OXFORD – On Friday, April 20, at 7:30 pm, 6 On The Square is pleased to welcome the Eric Andersen Band as part of his CD Release Tour for his 2 CD, 42 track, retrospective. These CDs, entitled The Essential Eric Andersen, were released on March 30, and cover fifty years of Andersen’s recorded history, including his early classics “Thirsty Boots”, “Violets of Dawn”, and “Close the Door Lightly”.
A song poet, Andersen entertains and captivates audiences globally. On stage, he moves gracefully from harmonica and guitar (acoustic and electric) while weaving tales of the past, anecdotes of the road, and sometimes hints of explanation of his song poems. He is performing with his all-star east coast band comprised of Cheryl Prashker on percussion, and Eric Lee rounding the sound on harmony vocals, fiddle, and mandolin as the song requires.
Recent highlights include prominent placement in the scheduling at Philly Folk Festival, and the high honor of closing Falcon Ridge Folk Festival; both to seemingly unceasing standing ovations. Fans received the classic Eric Andersen songs insatiably, and the new songs in awe. Time appears to have missed Eric!
Tickets for this show are $25 pre-show or $30 at the door and available at our website www.6onthesquare.org. Our doors open 1 hour before the start of the performance.
Upcoming shows: The Lied To’s on Saturday, April 28; Kerri Powers on Friday, May 4; David Jacobs-Strain on Friday, May 11; and Roosevelt Dime on Saturday, May 19.
