Bobcats capture 12th win of season with big 6th inning; Lady Blackhawks handed back-to-back losses and Greene split
BAINBRIDGE – After allowing four runs in the first, Bainbridge-Guilford settled to shut down the Walton Warriors for the following five innings to win at home, 19-4.
The Bobcats defense committed three errors in the first inning behind pitcher Morgan Neidig, allowing four runs to cross home plate. The runs scored did not go against Neidig as all runs were unearned.
In their first at-bats of the contest, B-G cut Walton’s lead in half by scoring two. In the third, the home team took the lead by scoring four. Adding another four in the fourth, the Bobcats held a 10-4 lead.
In their final frame of the game, Bainbridge-Guilford added another eight runs to secure the win in six innings.
Bailey Hart and Neidig each hit a home run for Bainbridge-Guilford while Megan Palmatier, Kassidy Davy and Ashley Matthews each hit a double for the Bobcats.
Hart had a perfect day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with four RBI’s and Palmatier was near perfect with four hits in five at-bats. Davy and Neidig also scored four teammates.
Neidig also started in the circle and pitched a complete game for B-G. She gave up just four hits while striking out four in the six innings of work.
On Tuesday, the Bobcats will travel to Greene for a MAC conference contest with the Lady Trojans at 4:30 p.m. Either Kori Thornton or Neidig get the start for Bainbridge-Guilford and Greene will have Olivia Kennedy in the circle.

SIDNEY – The Lady Blackhawks were held scoreless until the seventh inning, where they were able to muster up two runs. It wasn’t enough to take down the Lady Warriors of Sidney on the road as Oxford was handed a 9-2 loss Monday afternoon.
Sidney’s Lillie Hinkley got the start and pitched a complete game allowing seven Blackhawks hits. However, Oxford 11 stranded on the basepaths throughout the game.
Sidney jumped out to a 7-0 lead after two innings, scoring two runs in the first followed by five in the second. Three runs scored by the Warriors in the frame were a result of errors in the field by the Blackhawks.
In the top of the seventh, Oxford’s Hannah Ryan and Trinity Vargas had back-to-back singles and Jessie Howe was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Allison Beckwith hit a hard ground ball to Sidney’s third baseman, who couldn’t field the ball cleanly, to reach first and score Ryan from third.
With the bases still loaded and two outs, Caitlyn Quigley drew a walk to score Vargas and leave three base runners for Erica Spyratos.
Spyratos fought in the at-bat for six pitches but was struck out, ending the game.
Beckwith pitched a complete game for Oxford, allowing just six hits while striking out eight Sidney batters. Only three of the nine runs scored against Beckwith were earned runs by the Warriors.
Beckwith had two doubles for Oxford to help herself on the mound. She and Ryan had two hits in the game.
Bryleigh Beauchat and Tiana Savino each recorded a double for Sidney.
On Friday, the Blackhawks faced a tough Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcat team. The Bobcats used a seven-run third inning to secure the 12-1 win on the road.
Bainbridge-Guilford first got on the board in the bottom of the first with Bree Barber’s ground out that scored Megan Palmatier from third. Teammate Molly O’Hara scored earlier in the at-bat on a passed ball.
The Bobcats added another two one inning later before their big frame of seven runs. In the first, B-G put together nine hits. The Blackhawks were able to get out of the inning on back-to-back pop out catches by infielders.
Oxford’s lone run came in the top of the fifth. Ryan scored following her lead-off walk and steal to second, setting herself up in scoring position. Jessie Howe later sent Ryan home with a ground ball to B-G’s third baseman, but was called out at first.
Beckwith was also in the circle on Friday. She recorded eight strikeouts against Bobcat batters.
Oxford is scheduled to host Unadilla Valley on Tuesday at 4:30 while B-G travels to Greene.

GREENE – Deposit’s Mackenzie Stiles was tough in the circle again as the Lady Trojans were unable to pick up a hit against the Lumberjacks at home on Monday evening. Stiles pitched a no-hitter for Deposit took a win back home, defeating the Trojans 6-0.
The first two innings of play were scoreless by both teams. The Lady Lumberjacks scored first in the third inning, tallying four against Greene’s starter Olivia Kennedy.
Kennedy was again able to hold the visiting Deposit team to zero runs in the fourth and fifth innings.
In the sixth, however, Deposit was able to tack on another two runs to force the home team to muster a rally in the final two innings.
Stiles was too tough on the mound, dealing 13 strikeouts to Trojan batters. Her opposing pitcher Kennedy struck out five.
On Saturday, Greene picked up their sixth win of the season as they took a 10-6 win from STAC opponent Whitney Point in a non-league matchup.
The Trojans jumped out to an early 2-1 lead by the end of the second but the Lady Eagles of Whitney Point took the lead back when they tacked on three runs in the fourth.
Greene fought back and tallied another two in the bottom of the from, taking the lead back.
The Eagles tied the game in the top of the sixth, scoring one in the fifth inning and sixth innings.
Securing the win in the bottom of the sixth were the Trojans as they scored four to take a 10-6 lead, the final lead change of the game for the high scoring game from both teams.
Kennedy picked up the win on the mound while teammate Chrissy Boeltz came up big at the plate with three hits and three RBI’s.
