ACHIEVE Day Habilitation hosts annual Hanging Basket fundraiser
NORWICH – ACHIEVE Day Habilitation will be holding its annual Hanging Basket fundraiser for the months of May and June.
This Thursday and Friday, Day Habilitation will be holding a sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. outside the Day Habilitation Building. The fundraiser will have hanging baskets on site, as well as vouchers for those who would rather pick their own.
All proceeds of this fundraiser will go to the Day Habilitation's recreational programs.
Day Habilitation will see Hanging Basket Vouchers for $24 each or two for $45, and the event is sponsored by Pires Flower Basket Inc. of Norwich.
The organization will also hold an open house on Thursday, May 10, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., to highlight its new piloting program called Venture Group.
According to Habilitation Day Program Manager Tara Packer, "Pires has supplied our Day Habilitation with a beautiful variety of 10” hanging baskets including; Petunia, Geranium, Million Bells."
Packer said there are several color options with variations of arrangements, and they will provide the Day Habilitation with a card which then can be redeemed for a 10” hanging basket of your choice ($24.98 Value).
The cards are then are redeemed at Pires (216 N. Board St, Norwich NY).
"Our Day Habilitation would be happy to transport these beautiful hanging baskets to our neighboring sites," said Packer.
ACHIEVE is a part o NYSARC, Inc., an non-profit organization. Its mission statement is "...to advocate for an enhanced quality of life through skill advancement, inclusion, integration, and independence of persons with intellectual, developmental and other disabilities through services provided in Broome, Chenango and Tioga Counties."
