A Little Herbal Shoppe to hold grand opening at new location
NORWICH – In settling into its new location on South Broad Street, A Little Herbal Shoppe will host a grand opening event on Monday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. featuring cake for its visitors and 10 percent off all sales.
Formerly located at 97 East Main Street, A Little Herbal Shoppe has moved to 24 South Broad Street to better accommodate the growing mother-daughter business' needs.
"We really enjoyed our location there," said co-owner Priscilla Blydenburgh. "Our landlord was excellent, the place was wonderful and fit our needs, but we really outgrew it. As our business grew, we needed a bigger store in a more active location and this just happened to come to [our attention], and we said, 'Let's go for it.'"
Offering herbs and herbal products including lotions, bug spray, soy candles, soaps, handcrafted jewerly, and more, Blydenburgh and her daughter, Patience DeMun have been running A Little Herbal Shoppe for three years. After moving into its first storefront location on East Main Street in April 2017, the mother-daughter team has expressed excitement about their new location on South Broad Street.
"It's been busy, we've done a lot of painting and cleaning up," said Blydenburgh. "We had people coming in while we were painting, Patience actually sold a pair of earrings before we were open."
DeMun has been creating one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry for several years and became serious with the craft three years ago when the mother-daughter team founded their business. After beginning with beads and wire, DeMun moved to chain jewelry and now offers a wide variety of unique, handcrafted jewelry, including custom orders.
A Little Herbal Shoppe is also active in local craft fairs and markets, including Saturdays in the Park with Chobani, the Norwich Pumpkin Festival, and, beginning in June, the Friday Norwich Farmers Market.
A Little Herbal Shoppe began its soft opening this week, and will be open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Although typically closed on Mondays, the shoppe will be open on Memorial Day for its grand opening event. On Saturday, May 26, A Little Herbal Shoppe will have a delayed opening at 2 p.m.
A Little Herbal Shoppe is now handicapped and stroller accessible at its new location. For more information, call the shoppe at (315) 269-3611.
