NMS students honor Memorial Day
Frank Speziale Photo. Norwich Middle School students visited the Mt. Hope and North Norwich cemeteries on Wednesday and Thursday to plant American flags on graves and replace existing, worn flags ahead of the Memorial Day weekend.
NMS Social Studies teacher Matt Leach established the idea of taking students to honor the deceased by planting the flags, which were donated for the cause by American Legion Post 189 and VFW Post 2782 in Norwich.
