Woman arrested for selling cocaine

NORWICH – An investigation by local law enforcement agencies led to a woman's arrest for the possession and sale of cocaine in the City of Norwich on Wednesday.

Rhonda L. Horton, 30, who has no listed address, was charged on Wednesday with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, a Class B felony.

Police say the arrest was based on an investigation conducted by the Norwich Police Department and the Chenango County Sheriff's Office throughout the month of May.

"This was another successful investigation conducted by the two agencies," said Norwich Police Chief Rodney Marsh.

Horton was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon by detectives from both agencies, and she was arraigned by Norwich City Court Judge Michael Genute on the same day.

She was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility in lieu of $20,000 bail and she is scheduled to reappear in Norwich City Court on Thursday.
